Noah: The Musical: Branson's Summer Blockbuster!
Now playing in Branson: the long-anticipated epic of Biblical proportions, appearing on one of the biggest stages in our hemisphere -and the audiences are going ga-ga! Noah comes to us by way of the world famous Sight & Sound Theatre of Strasburg, Pennsylvania. The Branson location is Sight & Sound's second grand venue to present the same epic Bible spectacles that have thrilled millions on the East coast for decades. Branson's Gas Buster Discounts! Branson Chamber of Commerce and CVB has brought back its Gas Buster program to run through Oct. 31. Gas Buster Discount Punch Cards are worth up to $50 in discounts when redeemed at participating area Gas Buster sponsor businesses. Anyone presenting a minimum of $40 in receipts for gas purchased for their trip to Branson this summer will receive a Gas Buster Discount Punch Card from the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber Welcome Centers located at the corners of Highway 65 and 248 and Highway 65 and 160. Folks signing up for the 2008 Gas Buster discount card will also have a chance to win a Grand Prize Getaway back to Branson.

Bring Your Stimulus Check to Branson! A new, innovative Branson promotion offers visitors two free show tickets just for bringing a copy of their stimulus check, or proof of direct deposit, to the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. Since only a copy is required, the checks can still be cashed by some national stores to take advantage of their stimulus plan promotions; thus check recipients have two ways to "cash in" for each tax rebate check. Titanic Movie Exhibit: Now Open: The mega-masterpiece TITANIC, one of the most celebrated and beloved motion pictures of all time, will soon be honored at Titanic Branson when the popular museum attraction premieres its 2008 season, according to owner John Joslyn. Beginning in April, TITANIC: the Movie Exhibit will allow museum attraction visitors to step into a world made famous by the sweeping love story of Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio). The exhibit's centerpiece is a one-of-a-kind heart-shaped blue sapphire necklace fashioned after Le Coeur de la Mer (The Heart of the Ocean), the jewel that drove the movie to its dramatic conclusion. Among the movie artifacts on display: -The red dress worn by Rose as she climbed Titanic's railing and wavered on the brink of disaster, The full-length pink coat Rose wore during sinking sequences as she rushed to Jack's rescue, An extravagant Traveling Suit based on Academy Award-winning designer Deborah Lynn Scott and worn by Titanic Museum Attraction's own "Rose.", a rare 1912 gown that pays homage to Titanic passenger Dorothy Gibson of "Gibson Girl" fame. The highest-paid film star of her time, she survived the sinking to star two months later in the very first Titanic movie, wearing the same clothes she wore when the great ship went down. Theme Park Expansion: Celebration City, Branson's Biggest Nighttime Attraction, presents the biggest park expansion to date, and the largest new ride in the Ozarks for 2008. Roaring Falls, a $2 million water adventure ride, takes riders on a water-filled journey through fast-moving rapids and features a 5-story, 55-degree angle drop for an enormous splash finale. Celebration City is a 20th-century themed family amusement park featuring more than 30 rides and attractions including Ozark WildCat, a wooden roller coaster eight stories high. Celebration City hosts "Ignite the Night" a spectacular multi-million dollar nighttime special effects show presenting a stunning finale to the day's fun along with a boardwalk full of games, uniquely themed shopping and family-style dining.

Johnny Mathis in Branson!
The Mansion Entertainment and Media Center announced Johnny Mathis will be performing two shows, Sept. 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. Mathis will be accompanied by the Springfield Symphony.

Tour de Branson:
The second Tour of Missouri, a 623-mile race for the world's top bicyclists, will return to Branson September 13 with three individual time trials, an 18 mile route. Here's your chance to see the same top cyclist champions that compete in the famous Tour de France! Viva la Branson!

New Airport: May of 2009
It won't be long before you'll be able to jet right into Branson direct from your favorite hub! The runways are already nearly completed and the main facilities (including the 55,000 square ft. terminal and welcome center) will start construction in early Spring ('08). The airport will offer car rentals, eateries, a gift shop, and all the other amenities you would expect in a "real deal" airport! Officials predict over a million passengers will arrive the first year, with over 450,000 arriving on direct flights! Bon Voyage, Happy Landings, and "Y'all come!"

Kid Champion Entertainers: American Kids Inc. National Finals will be held July 14-18 at the Baldknobbers Theatre. The nation's only little league of entertainers hosts its membership competition & grand finale event. Grand prize of $1,000 in cash to be awarded to a top finalist in addition to age & category prizes. The non-profit group is 26 years old and has its national headquarters in Branson.

The Soft Sounds of Carol Kline
, cabaret, country and gospel, will be in concert at 4 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the God and Country Theatre. Kline has opened for such big names as the Flamingos, the Hager Twins, and shared the stage with such country greats as John Conley, Jeannie Seeley, Little Jimmy Dickens, Jimmy C. Newman, and Stonewall Jackson.

New Shows & Visiting Stars: Announcements are coming hot and heavy so check back here for the latest!

The Haygoods recently unveiled two new projects-the purchase of their own state-of-the-art Branson theatre and the creation of their own TV show. Their new home for 2009 will be The Americana Theatre (across from the Presley's Jubilee at 2905 West Highway 76). It will undergo a million-dollar renovation. Grand opening is set for March 7, 2009, with a new look, features and name. The weekly Haygood Family TV Show will be broadcast on the CW network and will include a mixture of Haygood antics and the group's live performances. Theater guests will not only be treated to the Haygoods stage performances but also be a part of the filming of their live television show. Coupons for The Haygoods are offered on this website!

The Branson Brothers Show is now at home in an 8 p.m. spot at The God and Country Theatre. The "Brothers" are now a quartet. The name became popular during the 1980s as the first Branson entertainers to be awarded a national recording contract and appeared before thousands daily at the Echo Hollow Amphitheater. Today that close harmony and rich tradition is being relived as the show adds two world class entertainers, David Ponder from North Carolina and Seth Dillehay, a bass singer from Nashville, Tenn., joining Dee Allen and Jimmy Ponder. Dillehay, 18, is famous for his deep, rich bass voice with the world renown Stamps Quartet. David Ponder, joining the show after appearing in the Gaither Homecoming Shows and their famous Homecoming Videos, has won several Dove Awards and is well known for his award winning songs and performing nationally with the Christian group, Ponder, Sykes and Wright.

Andy's Accolades:
On May 19 Music and TV Legend Andy Williams received the prestigious Ella Award at the Beverly Hilton Hotel by the Society of Singers. Past recipients; Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett, Placido Domingo, Celine Dion and Elton John. Andy, who turned 80 last year, hosted the longest running network TV variety show in history, and will be further honored later in the year by being Grand Marshall of the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City!

New Justin Flom DVD:
Branson's youngest headliner, magician Justin Flom has just released a DVD titled "Justin Flom Learning the Impossible Creating Magic in Your Home." It is a "how-to" DVD featuring some of Flom's favorites such as card tricks, vanishing money, swallowing a knife, reading minds, bending sliverware and more. No special props are needed because the magic uses everyday household objects. He also included some of his favorite bloopers.
Flom can be seen on stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday at the Imaginary Theatre and Magic Parlor in the Majestic building at the corner of Roark and Gretna. Coupons for The Justin Flom Magic Show are offered on this website!

At The Mansion, along with the returning hit show Country Tonite, The Promise and Celebrate America, singing superstar Bobby Vinton will be performing for the holidays. In a new full-stage musical gala, the "total entertainer" pulls out all the stops, backed up by a full orchestra and family members to sing all his most beloved hits, such as Blue Velvet, Roses are Red, and too many more to list! The Oak Ridge Boys will be in their own theater nearby in '08! In that theater will also be Dalena Ditto's Country Music Revue (Dalena coming to us on the heels of her White House performance over the holidays) and The Red Skelton Tribute Show starring Red's talented friend and admirer Tom Mullica. Joining the legendary Andy Williams this year will be Hollywood legend Ann-Margret! Also playing at Andy's Moon River theater is a group called The Entertainers, who do everything from "dueling banjos" to "Phantom of the Opera, Motown to bluegrass. Andy says it's one of the best shows he's ever seen, and folks, for a star who hosted just about every major star in Hollywood on his NBC TV show over the years, that's saying a mouthful!

At the Grand Palace is "Good Morning Ozarks" starring the singer and comedian Keith Allen better known as "Redkneckers" presented at 10 a.m. through Aug. 16 and Sept. 2-Oct. 25.

Jim Owens gets award: It's been over 30 years since Jim Owen portrayed Hank Williams Sr. in his PBS special "Hank" and recently he was surprised with a gold record for that work on the "Gene Williams Country Music Television Show." We are happy to report that Jim is doing great following heart surgery. Jim, who penned such hits as Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man and starred in two Hank Williams movies, will be performing at Clay Cooper's Theatre this season. Shows also on the schedule there are Clay Cooper's Country Express, (naturally) long, tall, deep-voiced John Tweed and 14 Karat Country. Clay Cooper is offering Free Coupons on this website!

We saw him has a highly honored presenter at this year's Grammy Awards, and now news comes that he is this year's recipient of the prestigious Ella Award, named after the award's first recipient, the unforgettable Ella Fitzgerald. Williams, whose voice was once dubbed "a national treasure" by Ronald Reagan, has enjoyed more than two dozen Top 40 hits over the years, along with eighteen gold and three platinum albums and a top-rated television show that ran for close to a decade and helped launch the careers of such artists as the Osmonds and Ray Stevens. was recently featured on CBS where they performed with Olympic medalist Sasha Cohen in "Secret Talents of the Stars," a live weekly celebrity talent show that reveals the unknown talents of 16 well-known personalities. The Mabe Family begins the 49th year of The Baldknobbers, the first show in Branson. The show was founded by brothers Bill, Jim, Bob and Lyle Mabe in 1959 with a mix of gospel, country, bluegrass, patriotic music and zany comedy. has opened his own show, "Jeff Sallee's Classic Country Revue" featuring a tribute to Buck Owens in the 8 p.m. spot at the Gene Williams Showcase Theatre located in the Branson Mall. The show is Monday-Saturday at 8 p.m. through Aug. 30 and 5 p.m. Sept. 2-Dec.13. Sallee is originally from Texas and now lives in Branson via Nashville. He has performed his Buck Owens tribute on a variety of stages including The Alvin Opry and Rodeo City Music Hall in Texas not to mention his sold out Buck Owens Birthday Bashes in Nashville. Sallee and his full band present many country favorites in addition to Owens hits.

Environmental Awards for Branson: Branson was recently named for the 13th consecutive year Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation and was also given the Tree City USA Growth Award for demonstrating progress in its community forestry program. Gene on the Road Again: A road in his hometown of Dyess, Ark., has been named after Branson television celebrity Gene Williams at the same time the community named a highway after the late Johnny Cash, another Dyess native. Dyess Mayor Larry F. Sims was in Branson recently to present souvenir road signs to Williams at a recent taping of Williams' television show, the Lucas Oil sponsored "Gene Williams Country Television Show" that takes Branson to more than 50 million homes nationwide and in Puerto Rico and Canada.

Many Branson theaters, attractions, lodgings and restaurants are getting certified by the S.E.E.(Signed Entertainment Enterprises) as being "Deaf and Hard of Hearing Friendly". That distinction comes after an audit of facilities and staff training to make the facility accomodating to those groups. A new mall
is open in downtown Branson called Chappy Mall. Among the stores are Chocolat, Heartland Cheese Farms, Bleu Olive Greek Mediterranean Restaurant and Euro Café and Creamery.

Line Dancing! Playtime Pizza, 3101 Gretna Rd., is hosting line dancing every Saturday night 7-9 p.m. Included: patterned-partner dancing, country two-stop and waltz - for beginners and the more experienced dancers - hosted by Bob and Sandy Hughes. The only cost is the price of the buffet.

New Airport: The under construction Branson Regional Airport is the first privately developed and operated commercial airport in the United States and will have a 7,140-foot runway capable of commercial aircraft traffic from almost anywhere in the United States and slated to open in May '09.

Golfer Heaven: Amidst golf villas and luxury home sites, Branson Creek features the Tom Fazio designed Branson Creek Golf Course, ranked the number one public course in Missouri and 60th in the nation by Golf Digest. Branson Creek also hosts a second 18-hole championship course, John Daly's Murder Rock Golf and Country Club, which opened last year. A third course is also planned.

Facelift at The Chateau: Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center (we need to take a breath after that intro) - The Library Lounge just off the resort's 10-story atrium lobby, has undergone a $600,000 makeover to better accommodate the Lounge's evening crowd of 200-300 people. The 301-room/suite resort, spa and convention center, located at Table Rock Lake in Branson, Chateau was also recognized for second consecutive year in Expedia Insiders' SelectTM Ranking of World's Best Hotels. Dino Takes the Cake!
Gospel recording and TV icon Dino Kartsonakis and his wife Cheryl have introduced a line of cakes called "Dino's Karrot Cakes" consisting of their signature Carrot Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Coconut Cake, Italian Crème Cake, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Strawberry Cake and Petit Fours and opened a bakery in Hollister at 12 Downing Street. The name of the bakery is Dino's 24 Karrot Bakery. A large part of the sales of the 24 Karrot Cake line is expected to be whole sale and over the internet, the bakery is open to the public for purchasing whole cakes or eat a piece of cake or a petit four and coffee on site. Billion Dollar Baby:

Remember those famous Branson traffic jams of the past? Well, that's been pretty well cleared up, thanks to over $240 million spent on creating alternate routes to get to all the shows and attractions. To further enhance your motoring to Branson, the State of Missouri for months have been making giant improvements both on Highway 65 and Interstate 44. Most dramatic, is a massive overhaul of I-44's main exit to Branson on Hwy 65. Huge work crews are laboring all day and all night getting ready for YOU when as Branson visitation grows by the day as we head toward Spring.

New Golf Courses! Branson Golf is at the "fore" front of fun! Branson's NEWEST golf course is The Tribute, an 18-hole Bobby Clampett signature course whichs honor the late (local hometown legend) Payne Stewart. (In the new Branson Hills subdivision).

New Kewpie Doll Exhibits: Bonniebrook, the beautiful Ozarks-style Victorian mountain hideway and home of turn-of-the-century artist and "Kewpie Doll" creator Rose O'Neill, has recently acquired a huge new collection of the artists personal belongings. Bonniebrook Park and Museum is located eight miles North of Branson off US Hwy 65.

The Branson Arts Council is calling for artists interested in participating the first Branson Festival of Arts 2008 to be held Oct. 9-11 in the Branson Convention Center. It will be a juried fine arts show limited to 100 artists. To register, call 335-6636 or visit www.bransonartscouncil.org.

A ground-breaking was held in Hollister for Wilderness in the Ozarks that is expected to be Missouri's largest indoor/outdoor waterpark resort community. The resort will include four acres of outdoor pools and a 75,000 square foot indoor waterpark, a wave pool, lazy river, four large family tube rides and a variety of other play areas for all ages. Also planned are condominium residences.

EagleRider, the world's largest renter of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, has opened a new franchise location in Branson. EagleRider pioneered the Harley-Davidson rental concept in 1992 and today operates the world's largest motorcycle rental and powersport rental fleet from premier manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, Honda, BMW, and Polaris.

Chappy Mall is a new shopping experience in downtown Branson near Branson Landing. It is home to Heartland Farms Cheese, the Euro Café, other retailers, and on the entire lower floor the Blue Olive, a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant.

A Breath of Fresh Air: The Comfort Inn at Thousand Hills, Comfort Inn West, and Best Western Music Capital Inn of Myer Hotels in Branson are now entirely smoke-free properties. The majority of each property was already nonsmoking, and the transition into making all rooms smoke free was a breeze.

American Kids Inc., the nation's only little league of entertainers based in Branson, will be well represented at ABC's "America's Got Talent." Brenda Hoffstatter, national director, has been working closely with the show's producers. A performing troupe of American Kids will be featured at Silver Dollar City during the Children's Festival. Another performing troupe recently entertained the Heartland District's Civitan Club held recently in Branson. National Finals will be held July 14-18 at the Baldknobbers Theatre.

Branson Towers Hotel has been awarded a U.S. Army contract to be a leisure destination for spiritual retreats in support of U.S. Army soldiers who have been in Iraq and may be going back and their families. Army chaplains lead the retreats for the soldiers and their families. Marilyn Harper, the hotel's groups sales executive, was honored by the U.S. Army for her efforts to arrange the lodging, food and entertainment while the troops and their families are in Branson. She received a large plaque, a dog tag and a special Army Bible.

In
the April issue of "Midwest Living," Branson is named the "Top Pick for Lakeside Spots" in an article titled "24 Best Family Reunion Spots." The article says Branson has lodging to suit every need, music shows, Table Rock Lake activities, golf, a good central location and help available for family reunion planners at the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Motorcoach Announcement: Our own Ross Summers, President/CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau (pardon while we take a breath here, thanks) was recently elected to the board of directors of The American Bus Association. leading organization of the motorcoach tour and travel industry.

The Butterfly Palace in Branson has brought the world-wide phenomenon of stamp collecting and the enchantment of butterflies together in 'STAMPede of the Butterflies.' On display in a 'garden of glass' is more than 1,000 stamps, featuring 1,000 different specimens of butterflies from over 200 countries. Each stamp portrays an intriguing slice of history as they astonishingly capture nature's delicate beauty.

Christmas at the White House is held annually Nov. 1-Dec. 31 American Presidents Museum with a museum wide exhibit showcasing the holiday season in the nation's most famous house returns.

A Glorious Christmas To Remember Show
is on the calendar for Nov 5, 12, 19 at Legends Family Theater with a 7 p.m. showtime. It is a live variety Christmas show produced & presented by Gospel Hour Media. Traditional Christmas singing and live, fully orchestrated music, featuring the phenomenal talent of Steinway pianist, Larry Dalton, a variety of dynamic group & solo artists, enhanced by the artistry & pageantry of dancers and replete with the comedy of Bob Nelson & the "Christmas Carols."

Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. the Second Annual Holiday Promenade of Stars Parade will be held at Branson Landing. The parade will feature local celebrities and entertainers from the Branson area, marching bands and Santa himself joins in all of the fun as he makes his way down the Promenade to his very own Christmas Tree House in Town Square.

Dec. 7 the 60th Annual Adoration Parade and Lighting Ceremony will take place along a two mile parade route that incorporates both Historic Downtown Branson and Branson Landing.

Looking ahead to 2009

Bass Champs March 12-14, 2009,: Branson will host the 2009 The Bass Federation (TBF) National Championship presented by the National Guard during which Bass Federation's best will compete on Bull Shoals Lake for $1 million 'Living the Dream' prize package. The event is the culmination of more than two years of qualification for most of the 30,000 anglers that are members of TBF and is held in conjunction with one of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour stops the same week on Table Rock Lake. Weigh-ins and Family Fun Zone festivities for both events will be held at the Branson Convention Center.
An official practice day will be held Wednesday, March 11, followed by three days of competition held March 12 through 14. The entire field will compete Thursday and Friday. The field will then be cut to the top boater and co-angler from each of the six TBF divisions for Saturday. The National Champion boater and co-angler will be determined Saturday by the heaviest three-day accumulated weight. TBF National Championship anglers will compete for their share of over $200,000 in cash and merchandise, every TBF Championship angler will receive a check and other prizes including a $100,000 "Living the Dream" prize package and berths into two of the sport's most coveted events - the $1 million BFL All-American presented by Chevy and the $2 million Forrest Wood Cup presented by BP and Castrol.Coverage of the TBF National Championship will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net in the United States as part of the "FLW Outdoors" television program. "FLW Outdoors" is also broadcast in Canada on World Fishing Network and to more than 429 million households in the United Kingdom, Europe, Russia, Australia, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, making it the most widely distributed fishing program in the world. The program airs Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. EST. The Bass Federation Inc. (TBF) is the oldest and largest, organized grassroots angling organization in America.

New Ride for '09: Look for a new amusement ride called the Branson Ball Knocker on Harvey Lane at which an RV park is now located. Huge balls will hold two people inside able to roll the balls downhill inside guards for about 470 feet.
